Tungsten Carbide-coated tools

Power generation: In seasonal coal production, tungsten carbide protects components used in the process from excessive abrasion under some of the most demanding circumstances.

Metals and steel production: Tungsten carbide coatings feature heavily in metals and steel production. Improved production quality and reduced maintenance costs can result from the use of these protective coatings.

Paper mills: In paper mills, workers apply grip-surface tungsten carbide coatings to roll surfaces because of its longevity. The coatings protect the roll surface from everyday wear and tear.

Cutting tools: The most important application for tungsten carbide is metal cutting. Main applications are milling, turning, and bore machining, accounting for 2/3rds of worldwide sales of tungsten carbide. These include both indexable insert tools in which coated carbide inserts are mounted on a steel body and solid carbide tools. Tungsten carbide plays an outstanding role in the machining process because it offers a considerably higher resistance than high-speed steel. It can withstand higher working temperatures and can be very well optimized to meet various processes’ requirements.
